St Barnabas in Linslade is an active and friendly Anglican Church with a sizeable congregation covering a broad spectrum, from those coming from a non-conformist background to members of our Walsingham Cell.
The main Sunday services are at 8am and 10am. Families are most welcome — at the 10am Eucharist there is a crèche for the youngest children, Sunday School for primary school children and the Barnacles club for older children. On the third Sunday of each month the 10am Eucharist is a less formal All Age Eucharist.
Coffee and biscuits are available after the 10am service in the Hall. Please look at the weekly newsletter for details of other services.
St Barnabas is situated within sight of Leighton Buzzard railway station, on the other side of the park, and there is car parking. The Contact page includes maps.
The clergy team is led by Rev'd Dr. Bernard Minton, who is assisted by Rev'd Wyn Jones and by three readers.

We are fortunate to be custodians of not one but two historic churches — St Barnabas in the centre of Linslade, built in 1848 to serve New Linslade, and St Mary's Old Linslade, across the fields, dating back to around 1100. Both churches in their turn were supported by populations much smaller than today.
St Barnabas was built as Linslade grew: the arrival of the railway in 1838 led to a housing boom around the station, and the original twelfth century parish church of St Mary's was considered too inconvenient, being over a mile away in Old Linslade. St Mary's is still used for occasional services and for weddings.
The parish church. It is spacious and has a fine organ, and is conveniently situated with a large car park and less than five minutes' walk from the train station. Christians gather here to worship God Sunday by Sunday, and day by day. It is also a place where people gather to give thanks to God at important moments in their lives — baptisms, weddings and funerals.
Built in the twelfth century, a couple of miles from today's community of Linslade. It is no longer big enough for the numbers who come to church, but is used for occasional services and for weddings between May and September. The churchyard is managed with advice from the local wildlife conservation trust to encourage a rich variety of wild flowers.
St Mary's is looked after by the Friends of St Mary's, a loyal band of unpaid volunteers. Dates when St Mary's is open can be found in the weekly newsletter.
We want to live up to this calling as far as we can.
We want to know God's love in our worship, and witness to it in our life as a community, and in our engagements with those around us. We want to help more people to know God's love and respond to it with joy.
There are many ways in which we already respond to this calling: we share in the Good Friday act of witness; we visit Elm Lodge Care Home; we celebrate a Baby Barnacles Toddlers' Service and a monthly All-Age Eucharist; we run a Tuesday morning Toddler Group in the Hall; and hold regular Messy Churches for young families.
But God is always calling us onwards into new life, to try new things, and to examine where we are. We must be continually open to the call of His Holy Spirit, and we welcome new ideas and new people into our fellowship.
Living God's Love is the shared vision of the Diocese of St Albans, and it shapes a good deal of what we do here in Linslade — going deeper into God, transforming communities, and making new disciples.

The Linslade Community Hall is attached to St Barnabas. We have recently completed extensive renovations, and the Hall and meeting rooms are available for hire. The Hall is owned and managed by Linslade Parochial Church Council as a benefit to the whole community, with support from the Restoration Fund Committee.
St Barnabas recently moved from the Diocese of Oxford to the Diocese of St Albans, and became part of the Ouzel Valley Team Ministry in the Dunstable Deanery.
